If I had to host a TED Talk, the topic would be “I’m a Counseling Psychologist and Why Does It Matter?”
Catchy line, right? But there are a lot of emotions hidden behind it, trying to peak out, be noticed. So I thought—let me Express my Uneasiness because why not?
I applied to be a Counseling Psychologist and here’s the reason that I wrote in my application form: “The sole reason applying for the course of Counseling Psychology is my passion for helping and healing people. I want to help people on a large scale. I believe counseling has immense potential and when done on large scale it could not only raise awareness regarding mental health but would also lead to acceptance.”
In 2022, this reason was met with some skepticism by my interviewers. Yet something still helped me clear the interview and enter my dream college, IIPR, Bangalore.
Now in 2025, I’m a Counseling Psychologist. I’ve done certain things along the way, like my research on “Loneliness Among Adolescents Who are Users of Chatbot Companionship and Non-Users,” which I later self-published. I developed an empathetic website for uneasy emotions, known as www.ExpressUneasiness.com. I have also facilitated a number of clients, and their testimonials are proudly presented on my social media, who shared their therapeutic journey with me.
Very early on, one of my mentors taught me the importance of passion. That’s why every step I take forward is guided by empathy, sensitivity, and compassion.
It’s my belief that only passionate people make a difference. And I’m on a journey to make sure I do the same. I believe this year is important in shaping my future life, and all I can say at this moment is: I am working towards my ultimate goal of helping people on a large scale for humanity.
Your Psychologist,
Ambidextrous Anmol,
Making sure of all the promises I had made to my younger self and my close people ππ
