"How can I heal this on my own?" … a heartbreaking π question I hear almost every week.
Recently, someone shared with me a long AI-generated text that had diagnosed them. It made me realize that we are no longer using AI only for homework, tasks, or job work. People are beginning to use it to label and diagnose themselves.
And that worries me.
They describe their deeply complex, uneasy emotions to AI, and then they read what AI tells them.
They dissect their symptoms with the help of AI.
They try to connect the dots using AI.
But AI can make mistakes!
It does not know your history. It does not see your body language. It does not assess risk. It does not understand context. It responds to patterns in language, not to the full reality of your lived experience.
It is similar to how people once typed symptoms into Google and were told they had life-threatening diseases.
We all remember how scary that felt. We all know how someone behaved when they did that, causing panic for themselves and others.
And the worst was when they started treating themselves!
Please hear me out:
When you get a deep cut, you do not sit down to study anatomy and attempt to stitch it yourself. You go to a doctor. You seek someone trained to assess the depth, clean the wound, and treat it properly so that you can protect not just a part of your body but your overall health.
Complex psychological conditions are no different. They require counselling, structured assessments, proper diagnosis, and guided therapy that can only be provided by a trained professional.
Trying to manage everything alone, or relying on tools that cannot truly evaluate you, can intensify confusion, fear, isolation, and overwhelming thoughts until they begin to ruin your reality.
We are social human beings. Psychological wounds do not develop in isolation, and they do not heal in isolation either. Use that to your advantage. Reach out for professional support. Let yourself be helped.
If this speaks to you, and you are tired of carrying it alone, and you feel ready to speak with someone who will truly see you beyond labels and algorithms, just send me a quick “Hi” to my email.
And we can start your healing journey π±
