A day spent in public—navigating judgments and curiosities about psychologists while addressing mental health queries—all through chess!

Play Chess with a Psychologist Campaign!

When they started playing chess with me, this was my usual question:

Who do you think Psychologists (manovigyanik) are, and what do they do?

As we played, I facilitated them to understand—at their own pace—what mental health professionals do, and why they matter, and addressing their queries as much as possible at the moment.

What kind of questions did I receive during this campaign in a public space?

I had expectations, but when it happened, I was beyond happy. It felt like all my experiences of facilitating clients had led me to this moment—to facilitate even more people in a new & engaging way.

As a confidential professional, I won’t disclose what was shared, but I can tell you one thing—everything they confided in me was deeply human.

I have spoken to people from all walks of life, and yet, when people Express their Uneasiness, they share only human experiences.

Good or bad—these are subjective, but never have I heard anything alien to me.

I have only ever heard human things. And this is crucial to understand!

The sooner we realize that what we go through is fundamentally human, the sooner we can seek assistance.

That is why I love to connect with people at a very human level, touch their souls, and eventually uplift them 🌱

This time, I chose chess as my medium ♟️😊

Chess became my way to break the ice and spark much-needed conversations!

One of my favorite details—thanks to my colleague, Mr. Shubh, who suggested this while I was planning the campaign and it's because of him that:

In every match, I consciously played black, while the person who joined played white—because white takes the first step!

And when you take the first step toward mental well-being, professionals like me will be there to facilitate you πŸ€—
